J'ai débuté mes recherches en travaillant sur l'écologie chimique des insectes des denrées stockées tels que les Coléoptères du genre Tribolium, en m'intéressant plus particulièrement à l'activité électrophysiologique et comportementale des phéromones d'agrégation et d'alarme de Tribolium confusum. J'ai ensuite axé mes recherches sur les relations tritrophiques impliquant les pucerons, leurs plantes hôtes et leurs prédateurs naturels, en m'intéressant aux rôles endossés par les signaux chimiques tant d'origine aphidienne que végétale. C'est ainsi que j'ai étudié l'impact de ces sémiochimiques dans le choix du site d'oviposition du syrphe ceinturé, Episyrphus balteatus DeGeer (Diptera, Syrphidae). (lien vers cette thématique). Je me suis également intéressé à la coccinelle asiatique Harmonia axyridis Pallas (Coleoptera : Coccinellidae). Nous avons pu démontrer le rôle important du caryophyllene dans les phénomènes d'agrégation de ces coccinelles, une fois l'automne arrivé. (lien vers cette thématique). Enfin, mes recherches sont aussi axées sur l'écologie chimique des pucerons, le rôle de leur phéromone l'alarme, leurs relations de mutualisme avec les fourmis, ou encore les phénomènes d'agrégation font également partie de mes thématiques de recherche.

I started my research by working on the chemical ecology of stored product insect pests including Coleoptera of the genus Tribolium. I showed myself mostly interrested in the electrophysiological and behavioral activities of the aggregation and alarm pheromone of Tribolium confusum (Link to this topic). Then, I focused most of m research on tritrophic interactions that occur between aphids, their host-plant and their natural enemies, working mainly on the roles of the semiochemicals involved. I started studiyng the semiochemicals emitted from aphids and infested plants and their roles on the foraging and oviposition of the predatory hoverfly Episyrphus balteatus DeGeer (Diptera, Syrphidae) (Link to this topic). I also worked on the chemical ecology of the Asian lady beetle Harmonia axyridis Pallas (Coleoptera : Coccinellidae). We showed that caryophyllene was the primary chemical to be emitted by overwintering lady beetle, and that chemical was used in the aggregative phenomenon in the early winter. (Link to this topic). I also focus my research on aphid chemical communication. As the major component of the aphid alarm pheromone, (E)-beta-farnesene is in the center of my investigations. I am putting most of my efforts on understanding the complexe role of this sesquiterpene in aphid colony dynamic.
