Announcement and call for papers

The workshop on advection is being organized by the advection group of the CarboEurope-Integrated Project (CEIP), coordinated by Marc Aubinet and Christian Feigenwinter, Physique des Bio-Systèmes, Faculté Universitaire des Sciences Agronomiques in Gembloux, Belgium. It will be held at the facilities of the Faculté Universitaire des Sciences Agronomiques in Gembloux (FUSAGx), Belgium, 30 June and 1 July 2008.

The workshop is intended to bring together renowned scientists to define and discuss the state of the art in advection research. Papers and posters are invited on all subjects dealing with advection of scalars like CO2 in the surface boundary layer and especially in forests including observational, modelling, theoretical, and applied studies. We particularly encourage papers related to:

Young scientists are especially encouraged to present their work at the workshop. The workshop will feature focused oral sessions consisting of invited and submitted presentations with ample time for discussions. Invited lectures will be given by prominent scientists in the field. Details about the schedule and the invited speakers will be available on this website in due time.

Please submit your abstract by 15 April 2008 (for instructions refer to the abstract submission section). Authors of accepted presentations will be notified (via e-mail) by 30 April 2008. The organizing committee will offer the possibility to publish accepted contributions in a special issue on advection in a peer-reviewed journal (deadline for submission: 1 Sep 2008).
